Adoption Process Simplified
Choose a Family
The first and most important step is to contact us and speak with one of our caring counselors. Our counselors will set up an appointment to meet face to face to discuss adoption, your options and help you make a plan.
You will meet with one of our caring counselors in person to discuss your options, make a plan and answer all of your questions. We call this an intake appointment. Your counselor will take the time to get to know you and what your wishes are. We will take the time to explain the entire adoption process and explain all of your legal rights to you.
Once your adoption plan is made with your counselor we will start to present families to you that fit what you are looking for in an adoptive family. Once you choose a family, you have the right to meet them and we will discuss what type of adoption you would like, open, closed, or semi open. Having chosen a family will relieve you of a lot of stress of knowing where your baby will go after birth. You can take pride in the fact that you choose the family for your unborn baby.
You will meet with an agency counselor and receive relinquishment counseling, can sit with our agency attorney and get any questions answered that you have. You will sign your consent prior to the birth of your child, but after the birth you have 72 hours to make sure that adoption is the plan you want to continue with. Your counselor will be with you to support you during this process and long after.
Your counselor will work with you and your adoptive family to make a hospital birth plan that you are happy and comfortable with. You will have your counselors full support during and after birth. After the birth you have 72 hours to decide if you would like to continue with your adoption plan. Our agency attorney will take your consent and the adoption will be final. We offer you full support during this time and we will never pressure you one way or anouther. We simply support you.
